Like many, I went to see Infinity War this weekend. I was not disappointed. This was a fantastically epic film.
I missed the last two Marvel movies, so I did a bit of a marathon beforehand. The night before, I rented Thor Ragnarok on Amazon. I thoroughly enjoyed that movie as well. The humor was a welcomed addition. I did not miss Natalie Portman’s character and the action was a fun ride. The next day, I found a local theater that was still playing Black Panther. I had attempted to see this film the second weekend after its release, but the theater was sold out. So, I watched Maze Runner instead. Finally, I was able to see the movie. I caught a noon viewing in the middle of the week. I had just finished several weeks on the road and had a few days off. Black Panther was amazing! It certainly lived up to all of the hype I was hearing. After Black Panther, I had an hour and a half to kill before the next viewing of Infinity War. So, I wandered over to Best Buy so I could check out the TVs and computers I wish I could afford and then slowly made my way back to the theater. I should have bought my ticket beforehand. The theater was an ATMOS showing and had assigned seating. I got a decent seat, just slightly off center, but I could have had a more central seat (if I had just purchased that ticket earlier). I even thought to myself that I should, but then I thought that I might wait until the next day. My indecision struck again, but didn’t ruin the experience. I made my way into the theater, found my assigned seat and pressed the recline button (Super fancy seating). This was going to be comfortably epic experience. The film began right away. They didn’t have a drawn out music intro or anything like that, they immediately get to the story. We begin where Thor left off. Having just seen Thor, this worked really well for me. I won’t go further into the story, but just know you’re in for quite the adventure. This movie delivered on all of those little end credit hypes we’ve been getting for the past however many years. Each one gave us a slight glimpse into this event and I felt very prepared. I didn’t need to ask anything more when Thanos arrived. I knew about his presence and his power. All of the movies building up to this point did an amazing job and this movie worked everyone and everything into the story in a surprisingly enjoyable way. It was a long movie, so, maybe skip the coffee that morning and avoid the soda. You won’t want to miss anything by having to take a bathroom break. While bleak at times, the movie was still able to hold onto their marvel sense of humor. All of the actors who got a chance to interact worked really well. I was able to avoid all spoilers before seeing the movie and I hope you can as well. Short synopsis: Thanos has arrived and wants to wipe out half of the universe. All of our heroes must band together in order to face him. Go see the film and may you enjoy the adventure! -Jorric
